Lily loved entering contests. This year, the town was holding a farting contest at the annual summer fair.
"A farting contest?" exclaimed her best friend, Tom. "That's… unusual! And kind of stinky!"
Lily shrugged. "Exactly! That’s what makes it so interesting! I think I have a good shot, I've been practicing."
Tom chuckled, “Practicing? How do you practice farting?"
Lily giggled, “It’s a secret! But let’s just say it involves lots of beans! And waiting. Last week my little brother farted so loudly it echoed down the hallway.”
At the contest, the air was thick with nervous anticipation and, well, other things too. One boy was disqualified after attempting a 'silent but deadly' one, as it was deemed too...pungent. Poor boy!
When it was Lily's turn, she took a deep breath, thought about those beans, and farted a truly magnificent fart that reverberated through the crowd!
The crowd went wild. "What a remarkable performance!"
Unfortunately, the Judge docked some marks as some thought it a little too long! Next year, Lily plans to compete again.
Tom patted her on the back. "Well, Lily," he said with a grin, "That was certainly...memorable! You made stinky history today."
